Golden Globe Winners
Due to the ongoing writer's strike, the
65th Annual Golden Globe Awards
took the form of a press conference this year. The telecast and opulent champagne
dinner were cancelled.
Atonement won for the best drama motion picture, while Sweeney Todd: The Demon
Barber of Fleet Street took the prize for the best comedy or musical. Johnny Depp also won
Best Actor for Sweeney Todd.
Other winners included Julie Christie for her performance in Away From Her, Daniel
Day-Lewis for Best Actor in a Drama in There Will Be Blood and Marion Cotillard for
La Vie en Rose.
The award for the Best Animated Feature Film went to Disney and Pixar's Ratatouille.

Cate Blanchett, Best Supporting Actress, I'm Not There
Javier Bardem, Best Supporting Actor, No Country for Old Men
Julian Schnabel, Best Director, The Diving Bell and the Butterfly (which also won for Best Foreign Language Film)
Ethan and Joel Coen, Best Screenplay, No Country for Old Men
In the TV world, Mad Men took the prize for the Best Television Series. Tina Fey
won Best Actress for her performance on the show 30 Rock, and actor David Duchovny won for
Californication.
