2007 Oscar Nominees

Nominations for the 79th Annual Academy Awards were announced on Tuesday, January 23. Dreamgirls was a force with eight nominations, but it did not receive nominations for the two categories generally thought to be the most important, best picture and best directing.

Films up for Best Picture are Babel, The Departed, Letters from Iwo Jima, Little Miss Sunshine and The Queen. Check out the full list here.

The winners will be announced at the Oscars ceremony on February 25 at 5 p.m. PST or 8 p.m. EST.
